A 29-year-old man was in custody Wednesday in connection with the death of a family member resulting from a fight at a Pomona residence.
The Pomona Police Department received a CPR call at 6:58 p.m. Tuesday from a residence in the 1100 block of South Hamilton Boulevard, said Pomona police Sgt. Brian Hagerty. Officers arrived to find a male victim unconscious. He was in extremely critical condition when he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said there was some kind of altercation between family members when the victim fell and hit his head.
Authorities arrested Rick Maciel of Pomona for the victim’s death. It wasn’t immediately clear what Maciel’s role was in the man’s death.
Homicide detectives are investigating the man’s death, Hagerty said.
