Family, friends and police officers Saturday were seeking a 23-year-old man last seen at his Los Angeles home more than two weeks ago.
Michael Martinez was last seen around 3 p.m. July 25, the Los Angeles Police Department said. He lives on the 1200 block of Fifth Avenue. He was last heard from around 6 p.m. that day.
Martinez’s car was located unoccupied the next day in the area of Interstate 15 and Wild Wash Road in the Inland Empire and recovered by officers from the Apple Valley office of the California Highway Patrol, police said.
“Martinez’s family wants the public to be aware that not returning home is out of character for Martinez,” police said. “He is in good health and is not known to suffer from any mental health issues.”
Martinez is Hispanic, 5-feet-9 inches tall, about 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a black thin sweat top sweater, blue jeans and white sandals.
