A fire that erupted Friday in a Temecula home caused extensive damage, displacing a family of five.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 3:40 p.m. in the 31000 block of Via Cordoba, across from Kent Hintergardt Memorial Park, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered smoke and flames at the front entrance to the house.
The two adults and three children inside safely evacuated the property prior to firefighters’ arrival.
Crews prevented the flames from spreading, completely knocking the blaze down just before 4 p.m., according to officials.
Red Cross personnel were requested to assist the family with finding temporary alternate lodgings.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
