
A group of robbers entered a Panorama City home Thursday morning and assaulted at least one of the residents inside before taking off with some of family’s possessions, police said.
The family told CBS2 they believed they were targeted because they are in the jewelry business.
The home invasion occurred around 2 a.m. at 8007 Broadleaf Ave., said an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Mission Division.
There were anywhere from four to seven suspects, armed with rifles, stun guns and handguns involved, according to reports from the scene.
Police said the suspects beat up at least one of the residents inside the home and that person suffered minor injuries. CBS2 reported another resident was shocked with a stun gun and that three residents were taken to hospitals for minor injuries.
It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were inside the home, but CBS2 reported there were children sleeping inside while the adults in the home were either held down or attacked.
The suspects took safes, purses and jewelry, according to CBS2.
The suspects, were wearing masks, gloves and were dressed in all dark clothing, the station reported.
