A family of six was forced out of a Yorba Linda home Thursday after a fire damaged the residence garage, but despite the scary inconvenience they were likely thankful that none of the four kids and two adults was hurt.
The blaze was reported around 2:40 a.m. in the 19900 block of Fernglen Drive and was knocked down in about 15 minutes by 22 firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority and the Anaheim Fire Department, said fire authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.
None of the residents — two adults and four children — was injured but one of them was examined for smoke inhalation at the scene, Kurtz said.
The fire was contained to the garage and the cause was under investigation.
The family found a place to stay and the assistance of the American Red Cross was not needed, Kurtz added.
