A report of a family dispute at a home in Torrance brought a response from police and street closures, but it turned out there was no crime committed, police said Saturday.
Officers responded at 10 p.m. Friday to a home in 22900 block of Walnut Street and were told a weapon may have been involved in the fight, according to Sgt. Ronald Harris of the Torrance Police Department.
A man and woman were inside the home at the time of the dispute and the woman escaped and was treated by paramedics at the scene, but the woman’s father and another man remained in the home, NBC4 reported.
Upon further investigation, it was determined a crime had not occurred and officers left at 11:45 p.m., Harris said.
The northbound and southbound lanes of Walnut Street in the area were shutdown for about 45 minutes while police worked to resolve the situation, but all lanes have since reopened.
